Sonnenglas® Wins the 2026 AIDA Award: A Milestone for Design "Made in Africa"

There are moments when we have to pause and realize just how far we’ve come. Today is one of those days. We are beyond thrilled to announce that our Sonnenglas® SOMO® Solar Lighting System has been officially named a winner of the inaugural Africa International Design Awards(AIDA) in the category "Product Design - Eco Design"!

In a competition featuring over 300 entries from 40 countries, including 24 nations from across the African continent, the SOMO® stood out. For us, this prize is much more than an award for aesthetics, it is a powerful validation of our deep roots in Africa and our mission to unite light, innovation, and social justice.
