##### Our review of the small but excellent sustainability trade fair at the Malzfabrik in Berlin

Solar days, clothes swap, lectures and veggie burgers: the Autarkia public fair is all about sustainability in everyday life. Of course, we couldn't miss it -

and so we spent two days at stand no. 36 in one of the most beautiful event locations in Berlin. Located in Tempelhof-Schöneberg, the old malt factory - once Europe's largest malt production site - exudes industrial charm. The event took place in the park of the 55,000 m2 site. A small sandy beach and two natural ponds created a wonderful setting for this outdoor event.

Kein Papperlapapp

To make our presentation as environmentally friendly as possible, we opted for an exhibition stand made of 100% cardboard or corrugated cardboard from recycled waste paper. By using a folding and plug-in system, no additional aids such as glue or dowels are required to assemble and dismantle the stand. Of course, the stand is also 100 percent recyclable. However, it will be with us for a while :) We have also dispensed with flyers and stickers to avoid waste.

That made us light up

Our stand definitely stood out from the crowd, which brought us a lot of attention. And this naturally benefited our sunglasses. In fact, we met many people who were not yet familiar with our products - and immediately took the opportunity to buy from us. We were also particularly pleased to talk to people who have had our sunglasses on their balcony or in their garden for five, seven or even ten years and still enjoy them. As a small gift for new and old sun jar friends, we brought along a sunny greeting: organic sunflower seeds. We have sun in a jar - we are happy to give you sun on your balcony.

Visit from South Africa

A special highlight for us was the visit of two colleagues from South Africa, Tebogo and Sweetness. The two employees normally manufacture our sun modules and sun glasses by hand in our own fair trade factory in Johannesburg. Tebogo and Sweetness were invited to Berlin as a special incentive. Together with Managing Director Diana and our Communications Manager Julia, they formed a dedicated team to represent Sonnenglas in the best possible way.
