A Reason to Celebrate

Exciting news for all Sonnenglas fans: Our unique Sonnenglas Solar System has won the prestigious Golden Pin Design Award in the "Product Design" category. But that’s not all, we also received the "Best Design"award! This is a wonderful acknowledgment of the hard work, creative energy and our commitment to sustainable, fair trade practices that benefit local communities, that our team has invested in our products, and we want to celebrate this success with all of you.

A Mark of Exceptional Product Design

The Golden Pin Design Award is an annual honor presented in Taiwan and has symbolized outstanding design since 1981. This award once again brings together the best designs this year and supports a global platform where designers and product developers can exchange ideas and push the boundaries of what’s possible. With an international jury and a variety of categories, the award acts as a launching pad for both established brands and emerging talents worldwide.

Since 2014, the GP Design Award has been open to international participants, evolving into a global ceremony. Since 2015, three separate categories have been recognized annually: the Golden Pin Design Award, the Golden Pin Concept Design Award, and the Young Pin Design Award.

Our Sonnenglas SOMO

More Than Just a Light

We are proud to have impressed the jury with our innovative Sonnenglas SOMO. This unique modular solar system won the 2025 award in the “Product Design” category. Out of thousands of entries, 429 were awarded the Golden Pin Design Award, including 155 in the product design category. What makes it truly special for us is that our Sonnenglas SOMO is one of only three winners of the "Best Design of the Year" award in the product design category, a truly outstanding achievement!
