Our journey began over a decade ago with a firm belief that products can achieve more than just fulfilling a function. Every Sun Jar and solar product we make is handcrafted in South Africa, providing people with secure jobs, fair compensation, and genuine opportunities. Our philosophy, “Trade instead of Aid,” drives our work. We aim to empower communities through trade and walk forward into the future together. We started in South Africa by creating innovative solutions for everyday challenges. With power outages being a reality, people often turned to dangerous alternatives. Our response? An intelligent and eco-friendly solar product system that continues to grow annually - from our popular Sun Jars and Light Carafes to versatile SOMO Adventure Mounts. Every product combines functionality with a dash of South African creativity.

From Idea to Global Ascent

From our beginnings in South Africa, we've evolved into a global exemplar. We remain true to our roots, and even though we're now present worldwide, we continue to produce all our products locally at our own factory in Johannesburg, which now employs over 50 people. We aim to bring sustainable solar technology from South Africa to the world, from campsites to modern design interiors.
