SOMO

One solar light, countless possibilities

At the centre of the Sonnenglas system sits an elegant, compact solar light that brings everything to life — now in its sixth generation.

From $39.00 Shop

SOMO is the core of the Sonnenglas Solar System: a modular solar light, now in its sixth generation. It charges in the sun or via USB-C and gives 100 lumens of warm white light (3000K) — up to 100 hours on low, 28 on medium, 5 at full brightness. Dimmable, with a day/night sensor, weatherproof to IP64. And because it is modular, it simply moves house: into the Sun Jar, into the Light Carafe, onto the Adventure Mount.

  1. Control button

On and off. Press and hold, and the light dims continuously until it feels right.

  2. Six LEDs

Warm white at 3000 kelvin, flicker-free, up to 100 lumens.

  3. Serial number

The QR code with your serial number — for the warranty and the upgrade programme.

  4. SOMO Classic

Solar cell, battery and light in one module — now in its sixth generation.

  5. USB-C

Under the silicone cover: charge by cable when the sun takes a break.

  6. Contact point

When the Sun Jar's magnetic handle rests on it, the light switches on and the day/night automatic takes over.

  7. Charge indicator

The light ring shows the charge: green full, yellow half, red low.

  8. Solar cell

Charges the battery in the sun. On a clear summer day, one hour of direct sun gives about two hours of light.

  9. Hand-knotted carrying strap

    For hanging or tying up.

  10. Adventure Mount

Your SOMO clicks in and comes along anywhere. In graphite, clear or orange.

  12. Tripod thread

Fits any tripod with a ¼-inch thread.

  13. Stands upright

The mount stands on its own.

  14. Magnetic attachment

    Simply holds on metal.

Inside every Sonnenglas. Shines on its own, too.

The same SOMO that charges in the sun by day turns any Sonnenglas into a lamp at night. Out of the jar, into the Light Carafe — or simply into your hand.
